If you are addicted to illegal drugs, prescription drugs, or alcohol, you may be looking at getting in to a recovery center to turn your life around and finally become clean and sober. But if you do not have much money, you may wonder how you can afford such treatment. Fortunately, there are a few options available to you if you have little or no money, allowing you to still get the treatment you need. Here are a few of those options.
Medical Insurance
Many people do not realize that their medical or health insurance may cover recovery or rehab centers. If you have medical insurance, contact the insurance company to find out what treatment they cover, what centers are covered, and what the maximum amount of coverage is for rehabilitation services. This is the best way to find out how much your medical insurance will cover and what amount, if any, you may have to pay out-of-pocket for your recovery.
Scholarships and Grants
Another way you can get into a recovery center and get the help you need is by applying for scholarships or grants. Just like when you apply for college, there are groups that offer scholarships and grants to those who are looking to get clean and sober. This money may be earmarked specifically for a treatment program or may be designed to help you with your overall recovery, helping you to get back on your feet after having an addiction. If you are dedicated to getting clean, a recovery center can help you determine which scholarships and grants you may be eligible for and then help you apply for those programs.
Loans
The last way to get into a recovery center with little to no money is to take out a loan. Many family members want to see you succeed, so if the money is for your treatment, they may be happy to assist you. If that is not an option, many recovery centers also offer financing options, allowing you to get the treatment you need now and pay it off down the road. Taking out a loan to assist with your recovery is a great way for you to invest in your future.
Recover and treatment centers are a great resource for those who are looking to get clean. They have the resources to help you through all of the stages of your recovery and can be better than trying to clean up on your own. Unfortunately, these centers can be pricey. Fortunately, there are resources available to help people pay for these facilities, even if they don't have much money.

When I initially started the therapy process about 10 years ago, I didn't take the time to scout out the right counselor. Instead, I just went to the first counselor that my doctor recommended, and the experience was less than enjoyable. I realized that I might need to do a little research to find the right counselor for me, so I took the time to carefully evaluate my needs and research different clinics in my area. I was able to find an amazing counselor who really seemed to have it under control, and it was incredibly beneficial to see the difference that it made. This blog is all about finding the right counselor.
